Hummus is a popular Middle Eastern dip that has gained a following among those who value nutritious and flavorful food. Its ease of preparation makes it an ideal choice for a cold appetizer with vegetables, a spread for bread or toast at breakfast, or a quick snack.
To make hummus, you’ll need:
- 250g of dry chickpeas (soaked overnight or for at least 8 hours)
- 2 tsp cumin
- 2-3 tbsp tahini (sesame paste)
- 2 garlic cloves
- lemon juice
- olive oil
- salt
- water
Cook the chickpeas.
Add all ingredients to a blender.
Blend it, and it’s done!
Drizzle with olive oil and garnish with chili flakes or paprika.
*For a creamier result, I add aquafaba (the broth left after cooking chickpeas), with the amount depending on the desired texture.
**Spices are added STRICTLY to taste.
